History of Sears

The American department store chain Sears, Roebuck and Company, more commonly known as Sears,was founded by by Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck in 1892. Originally, Sears was based at the Sears Tower in Chicago, and now have their headquarters located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Sears began as a mail order catalog company. Richard Sears purchased unwanted watches and sold them at a low price, still making himself a hefty profit. Over the next few years he partnered with Roebuck and together they started a mail order watch and jewelry company, before expanding to carry sewing machines, automobiles, bicycles, sporting goods, among other items. In 1925 they began operating retail stores. In 2005, they merged with Kmart and as of 2018 Sears was the 23rd largest retailer in the United States.

Shipping and Delivery

Sears offers four shipping methods, Economy, Standard, Expedited, and Premium. Economy orders will be delivered in 5-7 business days, Standard orders will be delivered in 3-5 business days, Expedited orders will arrive in 2 business days and Premium orders are delivered in one business day. Pricing depends on order, especially if items are considered oversized. Sears does offer free shipping however.
